My Buddy
Autumn's First Day of Preschool
Our dear sweet Autumn. I don't know where to start with this post except to say how impressed we are with her. I think she was ready for school when she was born. Kelton and I were so hesitant at first to send her to 4 year preschool but in the end felt it was the right decision, and it was. Autumn has blossomed and grown in ways that I didn't imagine she would. School is not just about letters it is about people, interactions and creating things that are all her own. It is just so great that we have such a wonderful school and teacher that truly loves Autumn for who she is. Autumn has done exceptionally well in school so far and is a "absolute joy to have". Did we ever doubt that, no but we were nervous I hope that we remember this and learn to trust her more. Autumn is a big girl who makes good choices about hard things in her little 4/5 year old world. Recently we have been letting her govern herself on some things and it is so great to see her think about her dilemma and handle it with wisdom and logic. Lately we have noticed that she has really taken to helping out her family which is always nice. Last Sunday we all slept late and she awoke first when I made it out to the living room and kitchen I noticed that the curtains were open, the light was on and the table was set with apple juice, plates, napkins and silverware. Autumn said she got everything ready for us to cook breakfast. How sweet and wise to know that she should not cook without me. We love our Autumn!
