My Buddy

OK so most of the posts are generated from pictures I have. So how could I not post these pictures of Keston. This is Keston and when he is graduating, getting married, blessing his children I will forever think of this picture and how he was as a little boy. He is learning so much everyday and we are of course so proud of him. He is learning "use his ears better" to listen and go and do what he has been asked. We have notice him connecting more with Pierce lately which warms our hearts (We think or it makes us shutter to think of what they are going to do together). My Buddy is truly that, a buddy to everyone he meets. We love him especially when he is dressed like this!

Autumn's First Day of Preschool

Our dear sweet Autumn. I don't know where to start with this post except to say how impressed we are with her. I think she was ready for school when she was born. Kelton and I were so hesitant at first to send her to 4 year preschool but in the end felt it was the right decision, and it was. Autumn has blossomed and grown in ways that I didn't imagine she would. School is not just about letters it is about people, interactions and creating things that are all her own. It is just so great that we have such a wonderful school and teacher that truly loves Autumn for who she is. Autumn has done exceptionally well in school so far and is a "absolute joy to have". Did we ever doubt that, no but we were nervous I hope that we remember this and learn to trust her more. Autumn is a big girl who makes good choices about hard things in her little 4/5 year old world. Recently we have been letting her govern herself on some things and it is so great to see her think about her dilemma and handle it with wisdom and logic. Lately we have noticed that she has really taken to helping out her family which is always nice. Last Sunday we all slept late and she awoke first when I made it out to the living room and kitchen I noticed that the curtains were open, the light was on and the table was set with apple juice, plates, napkins and silverware. Autumn said she got everything ready for us to cook breakfast. How sweet and wise to know that she should not cook without me. We love our Autumn!

Our First Campout

Our family and some friends and their families decided we needed to take the kids camping for their first time. We headed of to Caprock Canyon National Park. I know you think West Texas is flat and ugly but this canyon is BEAUTIFUL! We had a great time with our friends. We had smores cooked over a huge fire and slept very well in our tents. The kids had so much fun. The dads took the kids hiking in the morning while we cooked breakfast. The only hard part was the RED DIRT! It was everywhere, but you can always wash dirt right? At one point we realized that Pierce was eating the dirt so that probably was not the best but he had a great time along with his brother, sister and friends. We are so grateful to have met such good friends here. We will planning another camping trip soon but maybe we will avoid the red dirt this time. Camping is such a great thing for us to do as a family, we hope it will be a tradition!

Fun at Grandmas House

I do realize that they are doing nothing but it was still fun to see. They had played so hard at the river they were tired. I just thought it was super cute how they buddied up together and found a comfy place to rest. They are so cute when they sleep!

River Fun

I realize that this post has a lot of pictures but it was so fun! This river flows by my Grandma's house it stems from the Snake River. This was not the plan, to get in and eventually have a mud fight but that's when its the funnest! Pierce even had a good time until he started crawling into the water then I had to carry him in. He just wanted in on the action.
