I Caught A Big Fish

I am so happy we have passed down the tradition of fishin at Uncle Jack's pond! This is one of my favorite things to do when we go back to Colorado. This trip was especially fun to watch. The kids actually caught fish and to see their reactions was pure joy. I just love these pictures! The only bad part was Kelton wasn't there and let me tell you he was bummed who doesn't like to fish!

Uncle Jack

It is so fun to have children for many reasons. One reason is you get to experience life a second time through them. I have always loved my uncle Jack and I think we have always had a connection. He is a very, very smart man who knows the land and knows how to make you smile. While I was looking through summer pictures I came across these and I could not help but feel what my daughter was feeling in them. Uncle Jack makes you feel special. He wakes up at four to get things done so he can take you fishin at 6. That is a good uncle and now he has started that with my kids. It is just neat to come to a point in life when things or people meet. I love you Uncle Jack!

"Uncle" Randy

I never knew how gentle my cousin Randy was until I had children. He is now known in our home as "Uncle" Randy. He has a special gift of connecting with children. They are drawn to him and he is so kind and loving towards them. I always remembered Randy teasing and laughing with me when I was a teenager. I didn't know he was so gentle. My kids immediately loved him. They know. They know who they can trust and who really cares for them and they sensed that from him. One day we were all outside at Grandmother's house and Randy came pulling up the drive. I thought that was nice of him to come visit with us. To my wonderful surprise he came to see the kids and they knew that was the reason why he was there. Talk about a way to make a child feel good(not to mention their mother). He took them on the four wheeler and all around the place. He won my heart that day, thanks Unlce Randy.

Colorado Road Trip

I was born on Colorado and have many family members who still live there. Every summer we take a trip to go visit and to have a good time with our family. Although I have not lived in Colorado in many years I still have a connection there. I feel a sense of home in Colorado that I will always appreciate. My ancestors helped settle the area that I am from and my family that still lives there has a special place in my heart. I just love them dearly. So the kiddos now have this tradition every summer. We had such a great time this past summer. The kids did great on the road! We stopped in Chama so they could play around and they were being very silly!
