The Hunt

It is tradition that we have Easter dinner, egg hunting and eating of candy at Uncle Garth's and Aunt Brooke's house. This year was a lot of fun and the kiddos enjoyed the egg hunt. Ther were so many kids this year that it made it so fun to watch. Of course I wanted to get our family Easter picture and we did...not what I was thinking for Pierce's clothes but I think it is one of my favorites. I know when I look back at this photo I will remember the crazy fun we had as a young family. Or I will think why is everyone wearing jackets and sweaters and my kids have no shoes on and poor Pierce doesn't even have a shirt on. Kelton is so sweet I know he put the ties on the boys really quick for this picture because he knew how hard I had worked on them, thank you honey!

Easter Buddies

This is Autumn and her friend Rachel whose mother is the master seamstress that helped me make all of my Easter attire. The girls have become great friends especially because they live a couple of houses from each other. The girls looked so cute that day, Becca did a fantastic job on Rachel's dress. And yes the boy in the background hitting things with a rather large stick is our very own Keston.

Easter Dress and Ties

We live down the street from some really great people in our ward who are very talented in many ways. Becca is an amazing seamstress. I mean amazing she can design and make wedding dresses! So...it was suggested that I sew something and I decided to make Autumn a Easter dress and the boys ties. It took awhile but I learned so much about sewing and a bonus was I was able hang out with Becca and our friend Melissa who is also a very crafty person. While making these dresses I had fantasies of taking the perfect family picture before church with everyone smiling and thanking me for the hard work I had done. Well the morning started off with one son who refused to where the tie, a white shirt with unknowing holes and then the topper on the cake was the situation above. Let's just say we will not be blowing this up and putting it on the mantle. These pictures did provide a comic relief that was much needed that morning so we could attend church and think of the reason why I wanted this day to be so special, the Resurrection of the Savior and our Heavenly Father's plan for us. However I think that even He Himself got a kick out of this family's Easter!

Easter Morning

Easter morning is so fun for the kiddos! I love the candy, books and other treats that he leaves in the colorful grass. The kids were so excited that they ate all the candy for breakfast... OK maybe mom and dad helped:)

Easter Eggs

Oh the wonderful dying of Easter eggs. To be honest this was the first time we had ever done this and it was so fun! We went over to Uncle Garth's and Aunt Brooke's house and had all our Easter festivities with them and family friends. All three kiddos dyed their own egg with their names on them. A new tradition for Easter.

Easter Bunny Cake

It is so funny how you forget things until you see them again. I wanted to do something fun for Easter, start a tradition. My friend told me about this bunny cake her and her family make every year I thought it was such a good idea and then I saw the cake and realized as a kid we used to make that same cake. How I forgot I am not quite sure but it was perfect I am so glad she mentioned it to me. So kiddos please don't forget all the traditions your mother had started or tried to start...OK at least remember the bunny cake at Easter time. I had such a good time with the kids making this and I think they really liked it as well, until they had a piece and realized they all hated the coconut(bunny fur).

A Windy Day

I wonder if you kids will remember these windy days, when the wind would ring our ears and push dust deep in them. When the wind would make the fence blow down and when the wind would make us all grumpy and crazy! So kids this what your mother would do on a windy day first bath is a must, then a good muffin tin dinner and a good movie! Then early to bed with dreams of blue skies and not brown muddy ones.
